Denver opened its highly successful light rail in December, 1994, with just 5.6 miles of track. Since then another 11 miles have been added, and the system runs from the north end of the city to Littleton. Two lines are currently operated; the C line from historic Union Station south, and the D line from 30th & Downing St. south. In this video you will ride in the cab from Union Station southbound to the I-25/Broadway station, and northbound from Littleton/Mineral the entire distance to 30th St. Approximately half of the video was taped line side, showing you the downtown street running, the interesting operations along the BNSF/UP "joint line" with numerous freight trains running next to the light rail, and scenes along the right of way. You’ll also see landmarks such as Invesco Mile High stadium, the striking Millennium Bridge, and the three large flyovers, shown from the cab and line side.
Packaged in a durable plastic library case with a printed color cover. All scenes were taken during revenue operations, and the cab rides feature clear ambient sound and radio chatter. Video digitally recorded and mastered, with Hi-Fi stereo sound, limited narration, and blue skies. Rock steady picture.
