Designed to haul heavy trains through the snow sheds and tunnels of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, these engines actually backed up to go forward. This locomotive is preserved at the California State RR Museum in Sacramento. If you go to see it, bring your mug and take a picture of the mug and the loco to get an idea of how gigantic these engines were. |
