You'll start your visit in Belen, New Mexico with a tour of the large yard and a ride through part of it on a new General Electric model Dash 9-44CW locomotive.

Then we head east, seeing the railroad from Belen, through Abo Canyon and it's many bridges, to the summit of the grade at Mountainair. This is a time of transition, with a variety of BNSF, Santa Fe and BN motive power. This may be your last chance to see trains with the classic Santa Fe red warbonnet locomotives on the front of the train.

Experience hot stack trains crawling up the 2.2 percent grade between Skykomish and Scenic. We've taken our cameras to several remote locations so you don't have to. Enjoy the action as the railroad crosses rushing rivers, travels past lofty peaks and runs through a variety of tunnels, including the eight mile long Cascade Tunnel.

In this video, we’ll follow 3985, which is also called the “Challenger”, in Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma & Texas as she shows the public what big steam was really like.

Fortunately, our cameras were there when the railroad was still running full tilt, and we see everything from the manifest to coal and taconite trains. Lots of mainline diesel action! Minturn was still a busy place with helpers being cut in and out. Our video shows all the line threatened with closure, from Dotsero east to Canon city.

Today's BNSF Railway runs a tremendous amount of trains through here on both the old Santa Fe and Burlington lines. Galesburg is also a busy Amtrak location, and you'll see all of the Amtrak trains that serve it. If you like modern railroading, then this is the program for you! Approx 90 Minutes.
