| LOS ANGELES' GOLD LINE |

Los Angeles opened its new Gold Line light rail system on July 26, 2003. The 13.7 mile line is built on the right of way of the former Santa Fe Pasadena Subdivision. In this video you will see the entire line from Union Station to the end at Sierra Madre Blvd, including rock steady cab rides end to end in both directions! The video also includes extensive line side coverage showing you the downtown elevated section through Chinatown, the new bridge over the Los Angeles River crossing the Amtrak, Metrolink and Union Pacific tracks, and scenes along the beautiful right of way winding through the trees and residential sections of Lincoln Heights, Mount Washington, Highland Park, the high bridge over Arroyo Seco, South Pasadena, Pasadena, and scenes of the operations in the center of the I-210 freeway. In addition to the main program, there is an extended bonus section featuring the grand opening festivities for the VIPs and the media at L.A. Union Station, a look at some of the souvenirs, press releases, and other "goodies" given out by the MTA, a map of the line, and a gallery of still pictures, including some of the NIMBY signs seen along the right of way. Denver opened its highly successful light rail in December, 1994, with just 5.6 miles of track. Since then another 11 miles have been added, and the system runs from the north end of the city to Littleton. Two lines are currently operated; the C line from historic Union Station south, and the D line from 30th & Downing St. south.
In this video you will ride in the cab from Union Station southbound to the I-25/Broadway station, and northbound from Littleton/Mineral the entire distance to 30th St. Approximately half of the video was taped line side, showing you the downtown street running, the interesting operations along the BNSF/UP "joint line" with numerous freight trains running next to the light rail, and scenes along the right of way. You’ll also see landmarks such as Invesco Mile High stadium, the striking Millennium Bridge, and the three large flyovers, shown from the cab and line side.

rail operations. In this video you will ride in the cab from Newark Penn Station through the subway to
the new Grove Street Station, and in the cab on the new Hudson-Bergen light rail line from Newport to
the end of the line. Also includes line side action and street running, and visits to the shops of both

In June of 1999, Santa Fe 3751 and Southern Pacific 4449 traveled to Sacramento, California to participate in Railfair 99.
The inbound trips of 3751 from Los Angeles, and 4449 from Oregon to Sacramento are featured in this video. Scenes from
the famous locations such as the Tehachapi Loop and the Keddie Wye are highlights of the video. Also included is the
return trip of 3751 from Sacramento to Southern California. A special bonus section shows 3751 moving from San Bernardino
to its new home at the Redondo Roundhouse in January, 1999. This is a must have program for 3751 and 4449 fans.

In May of 1999, Union Pacific 844 and 3985 doubleheaded a special passenger train from Cheyenne, WY to Roseville, CA to
participate in Railfair 99, and the dedication of the newly rebuilt Roseville yard. This tape presents the entire six day
journey from Cheyenne, through Rock Springs, Ogden, Elko, Winnemucca, and Sparks, Reno, Truckee, over Donner Pass to
Roseville. In June the locos moved from Roseville to the California State Railroad Museum at Sacramento. A special bonus
section shows the newly restored SP 2467 Pacific and SP5326 GP9 in Black Widow colors moving from the Bay Area to
Sacramento, and into the Museum grounds for Railfair. This is a must have program for fans of UP and SP steam.
