| COASTLINERS - PART 1 |
 Large Image |
Coastliners- Part 1, covers the Coast Line from Los Angeles through Santa Barbara/Goleta. Valhalla taped along the coast line since the early 1990's. Following the format established in Valhalla’s previous coastal production, Surf Line Commuters, the program features lineside and on-board scenes covering the route in great detail.
Three working wig wags are shown in action. Valhalla caught these relics of the past just in time. The wig wag at Seacliff is now gone, and the others are living on borrowed time as Union Pacific upgrades the line.
Among the many locations seen are Los Angeles Union Station, Burbank Junction, the Chatsworth tunnels, Santa Susana Pass, Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura, Seacliff, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, and Goleta. There is extensive coverage of the tracks right along the ocean. You’ll marvel at the rock steady on-board scenes taken along the beach, depicting the coast line in all its beauty. Also shown are some of the block signs and signals which are part of S.P.’s direct traffic control (DTC), soon to be abolished by U.P. And, at the conclusion of the video there is a Metrolink shop tour, and an on-board view of the S.P. Taylor Yard engine facility from 1994.
59 Minutes. VHS OR DVD FORMAT.

| PEACH BLOSSOM SPECIAL |
 Large Image |
Experience a special steam train from St. Louis to Springfield, MO, Memphis, Birmingham, and Atlanta, in this marvelous program featuring the "Frisco" 4-8-2 locomotive No. 1522. The trip followed the route of the famous St. Louis & San Francisco Ry. over the Ozark mountains of Missouri and Arkansas, through Tennessee and the Appalachian foothills of Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. At Birmingham, Norfolk & Western J class locomotive No. 611 was added for an unforgettable double-header to Atlanta. You will thrill to the lovely steamboat whistle and sharp bark of the 1522's exhaust as she works uphill through challenging mountain grades, and marvel at the steady pacing action as our camera travels alongside 1522 for mile after mile of pure steam action! The beautiful 1522 was built by Baldwin in 1926 and logged over a million miles on the Frisco. Regrettably, the locomotive has since been retired from excursion service and returned to the Transport Museum in St. Louis due to FRA inspection requirements which were deemed too expensive to perform. The 1522 was generally regarded as the best sounding steam locomotive in excursion service in the country. See if you don't agree.
